Dear Valued Customer,

Please be advised that with immediate effect, no breakbulk sawn timber packets or bundles of poles will be accepted on the above mentioned service unless confirmation of fumigation is supplied by the exporter. Confirmation must be provided no later than 24 hours prior to the vessel commencing load operations.

This decision has been made in order to protect our vessels, cargo, and overall service from infestations of insects and similar animals, which can lead to significant bio-security concerns, costs, and service and cargo delays.

This applies to packets of sawn timber, and to bundles of poles shipped as breakbulk only. This does not apply to any cargo in fully enclosed containers, or to manufactured timber / board products. These types of cargo remain subject to the bio security requirements of the origin and destination countries only.

Any cargo delivered to ports for loading, that does not meet these requirements, will not be loaded on board, and any costs associated with the storage or the removal of the cargo from the port will be to the exporter’s account.

We understand that this may increase the costs of exporting/importing this type of product, but thank you for your understanding of the need to protect our vessels, and cargo from infestation.
