A Heavy Lift Surcharge (HLC) update from Asia

Brunei, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong (PRC), Taiwan (PRC), Macau (PRC), Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam

and Oceania

Australia, Cook Islands, Fiji, Micronesia, New Caledonia, New Zealand, French Polynesia, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Vanuatu, Wallis and Futuna Island

 to Africa

Mauritania, Senegal, Gambia, Guinee, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo, Benin, Nigeria, Cameroon, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Congo Brazzaville, DR Congo, Angola, Namibia, South Africa, Kenya, Tanzania, Djibouti and Sudan

 is coming up. This HLC will apply to all container types with a gross weight of 20 metric tons (including tare weight) or more, for cargo loaded on or after October 26, 2026 (on-board date), until further notice.

The details of this HLC are listed below:

  • USD 200 per 20' container
